7: Environmental Effects Data:
The dye is non-toxic and non-hazardous to aquatic life, humans and other animals. In order to ensure this the dye product was tested at an outside testing facility on aquatic organisms and found out the following results:
48 Hour Acute Toxicity Test
Ceriodaphnia Dubia - Microcopic Organisms Pimephales Promelas - Fathead Minnows) 120 ppm 665 ppm
To explain these results:
Some useful numbers: 1 acre of land = 43,560 sq. ft
1 acre foot of water at a depth of 4 feet is approximately 5,700,000 Litres.
It would take 120 grams of DyoFix Pond Blue for every 1000 litres of water before you begin to see more than ½ of the Ceriodaphnia Dubia (Microscopic Shrimp) dying from the product in a 48 hour period.
The 1 acre of water at 4 feet in depth, above would require 684 kilos, or 2736 water soluble sachets at 250 grams each to have this effect on microscopic organisms.
It would take 665 grams of dye for every 1000 litres of water before you begin to see more than ½ of the Pimephales promelas (Fathead Minnows) die in a 48 hour period.
The 1 acre of water at 4 feet in depth, above would require 3790 kilos, or 15,162 water soluble sachets at 250 grams each to have this effect on Fathead Minnows.
The sufficient amount of DyoFix Pond Blue to thoroughly dye a 1 acre pond with average 4 ft depth is roughly 500 grams of product or roughly 2 water soluble packets. From this data it is obvious that when following proper dosage guidelines DyoFix Pond Blue will not harm aquatic life.
8: Spill or Leak Procedures:
IN CASE MATERIAL IS RELEASED/SPILLED: Do not walk through the spilled material: stop leak. Eliminate all ignition sources (No smoking, flares, sparks or flames in immediate area). Wear appropriate protective clothing. Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas. Absorb or cover with dry material and transfer to containers.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD: Waste disposal should be in accordance with existing local environmental regulations.
